Violinist brings instrument into contemporary world for students

ARLINGTON -Many Boles Junior High School orchestra students
didn't know their violins, cellos and other instruments could
produce anything more than the classical music associated with
their genre.
But Daryl Silberman, a classically trained, nationally known
violinist, showed them that her violins – George and Stanley
– can also produce rock, jazz and blues and country.
"When you think about the violin, you think it's dull,"
Boles seventh-grader Jeremy Walder said. "She made it exciting."
